Welcome to We All Scream for Veggies! My name is Danielle, and I am from Minnesota. I live in a suburb of Minneapolis with my husband, Benjamin, of almost four years. I am a student at Arizona State University online, and I am working on a bachelor’s degree in Healthy Lifestyles Coaching. My long-term goal is to become a licensed nutritionist. Other than nutrition and natural health, I love music, singing, writing, cooking, traveling, and photography. I also love to go walking, hiking, kayaking, ice skating, and snowshoeing.

So, why “We All Scream for Veggies?” Well, my vision for this is to inspire and encourage people to eat more veggies, try new recipes, and eat whole foods. I also thought it was a fun play on a classic phrase that conjures up fond memories for many people. My hope is that people will “scream” for veggies like they did for ice cream! I think a lot of people really want to eat well but they don’t know where to start, or they need inspiration. It can be hard to break out of what is familiar if you don’t have a ready alternative. I also don’t think many people realize how much the food they eat affects them, in the short term and especially in the long term. Additionally, I think, and have experienced myself, that veggies have been misrepresented. They’ve been prepared for us in bland ways, and who likes to eat anything if it’s bland? It’s not the vegetable’s fault! It’s likely you just need to try different recipes and find ways you like to eat them. Plus, our taste buds change over time, and it seems that the more people eat certain foods, the more they want those types of foods. You may be surprised! I will talk more about my personal experience with trying something a new way, specifically brussels sprouts, in a post coming up soon, so stay tuned!

Thank you for visiting my blog! Come back for more posts and then the official launch week, coming soon!
